My name is Calvin Venus; I'm an Englishman living in America, a Houston-based producer/engineer with a full-service, 1200-square-foot private recording studio called A SafeHouse.
It all started when I was ten years old, taking an interest in my Trinidadian grandmothers vinyl collection. Her eclectic music taste must have inspired my pro DJ career at eighteen and my music production career in my twenties. Nowadays I specialize in weird and wonderful music ranging from rock to hip hop, jazz to gospel, and country to folk and more. My passion has given me the opportunity to collaborate with singwriters, musicians and producers all over the world.
I would have never dreamed that a former Ministry of Sound nightclub DJ from London would progress to owning and operating his own private recording studio facility in Houston, Texas. I consider it a blessing to create Billboard charting music across several genres for artists and producers like you and the hunger to do more never ceases.
